Your Excited 4th Grade Teacher, Mrs. Kudlacek
Dear Parents,
I am so excited to start out another year at Gretna Public Schools. My name is Sharon Kudlacek and I will be your child’s fourth grade teacher this year. Growing knowledge and acceptance is what I want for our classroom this year.
I was raised in Gretna and attended UNO where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and an endorsement in early childhood.I have a master’s degree from Doane College in Curriculum and Instruction.I have a special education endorsement from UNK.I have also taken 18 credit hours studying math education at UNL.This school year I plan on taking a course to learn more about the study of language acquisition for students.I love to learn!
My husband, Kevin, and I have 3 kids.Kevin owns a heating and AC business. Our oldest, Danny is married to Morgan and they have blessed us with 3 wonderful grandkids:Sophie (12) and twins Grayson and Hayden (10).Danny owns Impala Plumbing.Katie will be teaching Special Education (ACC) at Aspen Creek MS.Her husband also does heating and air! They have a little one named Bryce (2).Our youngest, Tyler, is following in his dad’s footsteps, working in the family heating and air business. He is married to Sara and they are expecting a little one in January. As a family we enjoy hanging out at the lake and Sunday dinners.
I have taught at Gretna Public Schools for the last 20 years. Before that I taught for Omaha Public Schools, Mead Public Schools, and at Alpha School.I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, along with being a special education teacher for 7 years.I have spent the majority of my teaching career in 4th grade and love our study of Nebraska.
Growing up with 7 brothers and 1 sister, I have always loved being with kids!Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and I would hope that my students will also love to learn as much as I do.I will work to make our classroom a safe, fun, disciplined and inquisitive place for my students.I feel that all children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish. I will strive to be that for each of them.
I know this year will be filled with learning and excitement. As in every school year, things can come up. I believe that a successful year includes open communication between parents, teachers, and students. Please feel free to call (402-332-3341/402-917-1948) or email ([email protected]) me anytime you have any concerns or questions.
Sincerely, Mrs. Kudlacek
